Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is also commonly known as “Shahenshah-e-Qawali” (The King of Qawali), and rightfully so. One of the greatest singers of all time, within Pakistan as well as internationally, his is the first name to come to mind when one thinks of Qawalis, which are a form of Sufi music. He had a great influence on music during and after his time, and his music is loved by everyone in Pakistan, and many internationally too. This tapestry, especially in its black and white form, is an ode to his Sufi devotion and the nature of his music – the greatest of all time.
